Now that the Geckos are safe and happy and receiving a fantastic education... Mother Gecko is doing her thing and thinking of ‘what next?’

To this end, Green Gecko has put a deposit on a plot of land – 300m down the road - to secure a sustainable future for the Geckos and future generations.

Yes, although we still have a few years before graduation, plans are now underway to build a non-profit social enterprise on this block of land. We’re now working on ideas for a child-safe bokator centre – a place where other Cambodian youth can enjoy learning this traditional Khmer martial art, just like the Gecko kids. Along with bokator, we’re also planning on including a community arts space so children from other organisations and the wider community can enjoy the same benefits as the Gecko kids, and a safe space to explore music, art and dance.
