New Premises, partnership, photography and performances! |

We are very proud to announce the Green Gecko Project has collaborated in mind, spirit and action with the Angkor Photography Festival NGO and created an amazing place called GREEN GECKO HOUSE!
The result is space to breathe, run, play and hide (us, not them!), moral support, increased curriculum, shared resources, an abundance of activities, NGO status, dance and photography performances and loads more work! We have 3 class rooms, rehearsal space, library, first aid room, office, enough ground for a multi purpose ball game court, shower and toilet block, an open air stage, grassed area and two playgrounds.
The collaboration was the brainchild of my French Sister/Aunt/Mother Marie, “after all we share the same kids and we offer different things, so why not do it under one roof?” No later than 12 hours after to nodding on the spot to a perfect plan… Marie found the perfect premises! We haven’t looked back since.

Thanks to the creative flair and pure sweat and muscle of Lou, Jess and Jonny, Lee for cooling us down with some desperately needed shade cloth, Sobey’s dance talents, Singaporean Students toys, books and games, Susaan and Eugene’s very generous gift of a giant rear projection screen and Stu’s fabulous playground design… we can’t keep the kids away! As early as 6am kids start filtering through the gates just to hang out (even though school doesn’t start for another 3 hours!) and that’s after walking 1.5 kms in bare feet to get there … they do have a tuk tuk service when school starts, but they aren’t interested… the earlier the better they reckon!
The kids have never been happier nor doing so well in class.
To learn more about why we think the guys at the Angkor Photography Festival are so unreal and of the great work the geckos have been exhibiting - please read the recent article published in a Malaysian Magazine that’s attached.
